Leadership Menomonie is a great way to learn about the Menomonie community. I have lived in this area nearly all my life and am amazed at all the volunteer work and community functions that make Menomonie the place for my family. One of the best things I took away from Leadership Menomonie is that it is all about people. Whether you’re trying to run a business or volunteering to help a local cause; people make the difference. To have the opportunity to meet the people that make a difference and to become someone that participates in the community is very rewarding. The leadership skills I have taken away from Leadership Menomonie will be invaluable in future endeavors.

I feel that I am very fortunate to have been able to participate in Leadership Menomonie. In so doing, I had the opportunity to meet the other members of the class and work closely with several of them on a special project. I was also able to meet members of the community who have been and continue to be very active, interested and influential. The monthly sessions gave me insight into the workings of various businesses and sections of the community that could not have been easily attained otherwise.
As a result of the program, I have a much better overview of the community, the agencies and organizations that are a part of it and insight into opportunities in which to get involved.
I would highly recommend participation in the program for anyone who is new to the community as well as anyone who has lived her for a while and now finds that they would like to become more involved.

Leadership Menomonie has been a wonderful learning opportunity for me. Being rather new to the area, it has been a great way to learn about the Menomonie community. Each day was unique and filled with great information. It really opened my eyes to what is happening in Menomonie and Dunn County. When you join Leadership Menomonie you will meet some great people, and you will learn a lot about the community and yourself.

Wow- I have been introduced to and had the opportunity to interact with a fantastic diversity of people; I have made life-long friends … who I know all share the same passion of enhancing the quality of life in the Greater Menomonie Area!
When I was approached to join Leadership Menomonie I was hesitant at first to participate in this program because I had lived here for 10 years, I was a business owner, a chamber member, I had a seat on the PTO and involved in other service organizations; I thought I was educated enough in what the city of Menomonie in Dunn County had to offer people as far as employment, education, history, resources and geography. Every month I learned so much about team building, facing obstacles and finding solutions; I not only was excited for the next Leadership Menomonie day I was inspired to take what I had learned and share it with my family, friends and clients. Great cities brag about their natural resources but Menomonie has more, they have people. People helping people, people of all ages, from different education and social economic backgrounds, new leaders rising above the line influencing each other in ways to improve ones self and integrate their findings into everyday business. We are so blessed to have this Leadership Menomonie Program here available for our community. This eye-opening program is for anyone who lives or works in Dunn County! I encourage anyone to apply and challenge any business owner to send an employee through the program to see fresh positive leadership results.

Leadership Menomonie is a unique combination of leadership skill building, networking, and community education. Through Leadership Menomonie I have developed skills, relationships, and knowledge that will last a lifetime. The program has also given me a greater appreciation for and understanding of the Menomonie community by exposing the heart of the community, its businesses, and its people over the course of the program.

Not only has Leadership Menomonie been an education for me about the community for which I have lived in for 30 years, but more, I have learned a lot about who I am, and how to better communicate, participate and be an effective player in a team setting. Each months topics highlighted social, economic, political or environmental issues that are often not on the forefront of the average community member. This experience has brought my community and my role in the community as a citizen, employee, parent and young professional to the forefront for me. I would like to thank all of the committee members through the Chamber, the professional staff at the chamber and community volunteers that made this possible. Thanks for a great year!
